Why it worked

Black Shield stopped every form of crowd control cold, which reduced whole enemy compositions to nothing for as long as it held. Tormented Soil ticked percentage damage on the ground while Liandry's doubled it on anything Rylai's had slowed. Soul Shackles then pinned the two who had tried to leave.
