Why it worked

A kill or an assist reset every cooldown she had, so a single pick-off became a chain that closed out the fight. Death Lotus channelled onto three targets at once, and Zhonya's covered the follow-up. Deathfire Grasp started it with a percentage-health nuke that did not care how tanky the target had built.
