Why it worked

Crowstorm was an ultimate you flashed into: five seconds of damage across a wide circle, uninterruptible from the moment it touched down. With Zhonya's, the enemy team first had to live through the channel and then wait out a stasis before it could reach him. Terrify took care of whoever might otherwise have stopped it.
